The WORK of an INFORMATION ARCHITECT

The WORK of an INFORMATION ARCHITECT is about reducing complexity of information by making labels, way finding and search add value to the organization. Not bounded by certain media or formats, the information architect is always on the outlook for new ways of expressing the core messages of the enterprise.

Knowing how to ask strategic questions before jumping into design, and how to facilitate innovation, the information architect works building blocks of content structure, navigation, search and style into comprehensive, innovative and effective flows of information, manage projects, keep libraries of metadata, logfiles and standards in order to improve learning and future projects, and conduct user studies, all to ensure optimum fit between solutions and context of use.
